Displaying a friendly sign on cafe tables is a good way to encourage social engagement.

We have designed our own friendly signs as shown in the below image and we simply encourage cafe operators to display the friendly signs on their cafe tables. The signs could be attached to table tops or inserted on the reverse side of table order holders that customers place on their tables while waiting for orders to arrive.

Our friendly signs prompt friendly gestures (smiles and hellos that can often lead onto chatting) that help to make a more friendly and healthy community. Our signs should appeal to everyone supportive of building more friendly and healthy communities.

We urge cafe operators to support having such friendly signs attached to cafe tables or inserted on the reverse side of cafe order holders that customers take to their tables while waiting for their cafe orders. The friendly signs are small (business card size) but they make a big difference for good (prompting friendly gestures that make neighbourhoods more friendly and healthy).
